The other type of thermal technology is the thermal transfer technology. Although this type of label too can be used for making barcodes, the label making procedure is very different. In DT labels, the heating element, itself in the shape of the words or images to be printed, directly prints on the printing material which can be polymer, paper etc. In case of TT labels, a ribbon is used in the printing machines.
